About Me

 

Hi, my name is Izzy. I am an Occupational Therapist with over 14 years of experience working in the child and adult mental health and neurodevelopmental arena. I have worked in inpatient settings, the community and in schools and I currently work as a Specialist Neurodevelopmental Practitioner and am a qualified Sensory Integration Therapist.

My interest in Autism and ADHD was fueled when my children started to present with differences. I became acutely aware that these awesome little beings did not quite fit into the tidy little boxes that others appeared to, and that we would need to drastically change our approach as parents in order to meet their needs. Over the years, as I have advocated strongly for my neurodivergent children, and learnt more about my own neurotype, I have developed a passion for supporting others in Autistic identity exploration and in providing post-diagnostic therapeutic support.

I have the following qualifications: BSc Occupational Therapy (HCPC registered OT60713), Post Graduate Certificate in Sensory Integration Therapy, Fusion Therapeutic Coaching Diploma and ADHD Coaching accreditation. I attend lots of training as part of continuing professional development (CPD) and have recently enjoyed a training event on 'an affirmative approach to supporting interoception, feeding challenges and ARFID' which was both interesting and extremely helpful and insightful.
